STARKVILLE — Sam Godbold, 93, died Dec. 15, 2022, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, at First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Welch Funeral Home of Starkville is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Godbold was born July 27, 1929, in Hollywood, Tunica County, to the late Robert R. Godbold Sr. and Annie E. Godbold. He was a graduate of Tunica County school, Mississippi State University and the University of Texas. He was formerly employed with Air Force Research and Development Command and was a member of First Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Rev. Robert Godbold and Duncan Godbold of Germantown, Tennessee.
He is survived by his wife, Betsy Wootn Godbold.
