COLUMBUS — Sallie Faye Frye, 89, died June 17, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle. Services will be held at a later date. Lowndes Funeral Home of Columbus is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Frye was born Aug. 31, 1929, in Liberty, Alabama, to the late Mary Stokes Bell and Louie Bell. She was formerly employed with United Technologies and a member of Caledonia United Pentecostal Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Denver Jackson Frye; son, Bennie Frye; and daughter, Donna Fuller. She is survived by her sons, Joe Shaw and Kenny Frye, both of Columbus, and Terry Frye of Augusta, Georgia; daughters, Edna Ferraro and Judy Barton, both of Caledonia, and Frankie Smith of Woodland; 16 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
