Sadie Mobley Gandy, 83, died Jan. 31, 2009, in Chicago. Services are Saturday at 2 p.m. at New Zion United Methodist Church with Bro. Jessie Hutton officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation is today from 1-6 p.m. with family hour from 6-7 p.m. at West Memorial Funeral Home in Starkville. Mrs. Gandy was born June 3, 1925, in Starkville to Don and Mellissa Mobley. She was a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dempsey Gandy Sr.; children, Katie, Tommy and Andrew; and one grandson. She is survived by her daughters, Ella Ingram and Louise Seals, both of Detroit, Virgie Ingram and Janice Simpson of Cincinnati, Patricia Cummings of California, Priscilla Pate of Jackson, and Sadie Clay and Mellissa Smith, both of Starkville; sons: Jessie Gandy of Chicago, Rickey Gandy of Atlanta, Roy and Dempsey Gandy Jr., both of Columbus, and Kennedy Gandy of Starkville; sister, Verlie Pollard; and brothers, Don and J.C. Mobley.
