Rosemary Edmonds

Rosemary Edmonds, 78, of Columbus, died Sunday, June 4, 2006, at Tucson Medical Center. She was the wife of Donald J. Edmonds, with whom she shared 58 years of marriage. Born in Ottumwa, Iowa, she was the daughter of Edward Lewis and Vella Tony (Middlesworth) Lewis, and was a graduate of Ottumwa High School. After she completed high school, her family moved to San Antonio, TX, where she met her husband, who was a Technical Sergeant in the US Air Force. Over the years they were stationed in many places including Coco Beach, FL, and Alamogordo, NM, finally retiring in Columbus, MS, where she worked as head cashier at the Columbus Air Force Base Commissary, then in the fabric department of the local Wal-Mart Store. In 1994, they re-settled in San Angelo, TX, and in 2004 they moved to Tucson, AZ. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sister Josephine Ann (Lewis) Stack; two sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Naomi Edmonds of Columbus, MS, and Timothy and Susan Edmonds of Artesia, MS; another son, Sydney Edmonds of Columbus, MS; a daughter and son-in-law, Alissa and Robert Dionne of Tucson, AZ; 8 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Rosemary was pre-deceased by her older sister, Hazel L. (Lewis) Moffet, and her older brother, Frederick R. Lewis. A funeral service will be held at Memorial Gardens on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at 2:00 P.M.
