Rosa Goar Thomas, 92, died Feb. 10, 2009, in Columbus. Services are Monday at 11 a.m. at Sanders Chapel CME Church with Pastor J.W. Honeysuckle officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens in Columbus. Visitation is today from 2-5 p.m. at Lee-Sykes Funeral Home Chapel in Columbus. Mrs. Thomas was born Sept. 6, 1916, in Columbus, to the late William and Sallie Chatman Goar. She was a longtime member of Sanders Chapel CME Church where she served as a deaconess and Sunday school teacher. She was the owner of Be-Bop Inn for over 50 years. She is survived by her daughter, Vera Dixon of Nashville, Tenn.; son, Randle Thomas of Flint, Mich.; sisters, Girlee Cole of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Samella Edwards of Maryland; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be her nephews.
