Ronald Holloway, 65, went home to be with the Lord on June 5, 2022. Ron was born on June 13, 1956, to the late Finley and Janell Holloway in Ft Hood (Killeen, TX.) He grew up in Greenwood, MS and graduated from Jim Hill High School in Jackson, MS in 1974. He went on to join the United States Army and was a medic at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. After his time at Walter Reed, he returned to Jackson where he met his wife Lisa (Lumsden) Holloway. The two spent several years in Tampa, FL and then moved to Little Rock, AR. There he worked as a plumber for Harrell Mechanical. The two brought home their only child, Heather, to settle in Columbus, MS, to be closer to family. He was a very successful salesman for Southern Tire Mart for 24 years.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Holloway; daughter, Heather (Jared) Patrick; sister, Brenda (Jerry) Smith; brother-in-law, Chief Lumsden; sister-in-law, Dee Andrews (Dave); brother-in- law, Jeremy Lumsden (Heather) as well as a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
If one word could be used to describe Ron Holloway, it would be friend. He loved his friends and family very much. He wanted to be remembered as the good or guy who never met a stranger, enjoyed an ice-cold Bud Light and could tell a joke like no other. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved golfing, fishing, grilling and gardening. He was also incredibly gifted musician who could play several instruments and enjoyed playing guitar.
A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church in Heber Springs, AR, on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at 3 PM. Visitation with refreshments will be held after the service.
Ron will be greatly missed by his family and those close to him.
