DETROIT, Ala. — Rodney Hollis, 52, died July 13, 2021, at UAB in Birmingham.
Military Honor Services were at 2 p.m. Monday, at Otts Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Tony Crump officiating. Graveside services followed at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation was from 12:30-2 p.m. prior to services at the funeral home. Otts Funeral Home of Sulligent was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Hollis was born Nov. 26, 1968, in Winfield, to Lessie Nell Hollis and the late Ernest Lee Wallace. He was a graduate of Marion County High School and served in the U.S. Army. He was formerly employed with 3M in Guin.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Brenda Hollis Homan of Detroit; daughter, Shanice Eugene of Germany; stepsons, Jessie Lee Evans and Jason Evans of Detroit and James Evans of Shelbyville, Tennessee; stepdaughter, Jessica Evans of Mobile; brothers, Lee Hollis of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Ernest Wallace Jr., LaShawn Wallace Sr., and Quincy Wallace; sisters, Melissa Stowe of Fayette, Teresa Hollis of Gardendale, Lalaya Wallace Simpson of Georgia, and Kimberly Thomas; one grandchild; and six step-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jason Evans, Jessie Evans, James Evans, Jerry Stowe, Deon Stowe, and Ricky Truelove.
