COLUMBUS — Roberta Norris Stroud, 94, died Feb. 9, 2010, at The Windsor Place. A private graveside service was held Thursday at Greenwood Cemetery. Robinson Funeral was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Stroud was born Jan. 20, 1916, in Newark, Ark., to the late Lee Roy and Mary Etta Cox Norris. She moved to West Point with her husband and sons in 1955. She was married to the late J.B. Stroud, retired senior vice president for administration at Bryan Foods. She provided arrangements for numerous weddings and other events and chaired the flower committee at the First Baptist Church. She was a published, prize-winning poet and member of the New Century Club in West Point. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.B. Stroud. She is survived by her sons, Dr. J.B. Stroud Jr., of Thibodaux, La., George Alan Stroud, of Louisville, Ky.; two grandsons, one great-granddaughter and one great-grandson.
