COLUMBUS — Robert E. Smith Jr., 39, died Dec. 14, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at James M. Trotter Convention Center with James A. Boyd officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul MB Church Cemetery. Visitation is from 3-8 p.m. today at Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus. Mr. Smith was born APril 23, 1977, to Robert Smith Sr. and Joanne Dismuke. He was employed with North Atlantic Security. He was a member of Zion Gate MB Church and graduated from Columbus High School. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Nedra Brewer Smith of Columbus; children, Davius Rashad Smith and Destin M. Poindexter, both of Columbus; and siblings, Rodney Smith, Rebecca Smith, Sherman Smith, German Smith and Orlando Smith, all of Columbus, Ravyn James and Zion Reed of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Carlos Tucker of Colorado, and Malaika Patterson of Birmingham, Alabama.
