COLUMBUS — Robert Lampkin, 81, died Nov. 10, 2022, in Columbus.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Canaan M.B. Church, with the Rev. Jimmy Pounds officiating. Burial will follow at Sandfield Cemetery. Visitation is from 2-6 p.m. today, at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Lamplin was born Nov. 26, 1940, in Columbus, to the late M.V. Lampkin and Laura Blanch Matthews. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was formerly employed as a corrections officer and supervisor at the Juvenile Justice System. He was a member of Canaan M.B. Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Pinkie Nell Coleman, Charles Matthews and Eugene Matthews.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Lampkin; children, Deandrea Miller of Baker, Florida, Robert Lampkin Jr. of Chicago, Illinois; siblings, Carolyn Perkins of Columbus and Wilbert Lashley of Buffalo, New York; and five grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Chris Barry, Cory Clark, Fred Jones Jr., Willy Jones, Rashad Lampkin and Allen Perkins.
