OKOLONA — Peggy Joyce Taylor Carson, 63, died April 24, 2009, at her residence. Services are today at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Okolona with Bros. Truman Carter and Robert Earl Fowlkes officiating. Burial will follow at Howell Cemetery in Monroe County. Visitation is today from 5-8 p.m. and from 12-1:45 p.m. at the Okolona Chapel. Holland-Harris Funeral Home Directors of Okolona is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Carson was born Feb. 10, 1946, in Aberdeen to Easter Lee Woods Taylor and the late Thomas E. Taylor. She graduated from Aberdeen High School and from Itawamba Community College with a degree in Business Administration. She was a Councilwomen serving on the Okolona City Counci and was a member of the Carnation Baptist Church in Okolona. She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas E. Taylor; son, Chad Sides; grandson, Cross. She is survived by her husband, Craig Carson of Okolona; mother, Easter Lee Woods Taylor of Aberdeen; daughters, Angel Steen of Tupelo, Amanda Brown of Bartahatchie, and Missy Graham of Columbus; sons, Dale Roberston of Bartahatchie, and Terry Roberston of Columbus; sisters, Judy Taylor and Betty Dye, both of Aberdeen; brothers, Charles Taylor of Tyrone, Ga., and Murrell Taylor of Mooreville; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
