ABERDEEN — Pauline Goodwin Coleman, 91, died April 12, 2019, at Hermitage Gardens Assisted Living in Oxford, MS. Visitation and the funeral service will be held at Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Aberdeen. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 17, 2019, from 11:00 A.M. until 12 Noon. The service will be at 12 Noon with Bro. Tim Cunningham officiating. Burial will be at Sullivan Cemetery in Bartahatchie, MS. Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Aberdeen is in charge of the arrangements. She was born on February 24, 1928, in Marion County, Alabama, to John William and Martha Leevina Goodwin. She graduated from Greenwood Springs High School and later graduated from Vaughn’s Beauty College in Aberdeen. For 36 years, she operated Pauline’s Beauty Shop in Aberdeen. After closing her shop, she and her husband moved to Amory, MS. She was a member of New Hope Primitive Baptist Church in Hatley, MS. She had quite a reputation with family, friends and acquaintances, as she delighted in sharing her original caramel cake recipe with everyone. Attending area auctions and participating in her favorite out-door activity— fishing—were means for her relaxation and enjoyment. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 73 years, Johnny Jerome Coleman, Sr.; four brothers; and four sisters. Survivors include her two sons, Johnny Jerome Coleman, Jr. (Molly) of Columbus, MS and Dennis Franklin Coleman (Penny), also of Columbus; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be grandsons, family members and friends.
