AMORY — Opal H. Gilmore, 83, died Jan. 1, 2010, at the Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center. Services are today at 1 p.m. at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel with Bros. Tommy Whaley and Thomas Neal officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery. Visitation will continue until service time on today at the funeral home. Mr. Gilmore was born May 16, 1926, in Detroit, Ala., to the late John Thomas and Ila Loggins Gilmore. He was a member of the Bigbee Baptist Church and he retired from Walker Manufacturing and he was a retired farmer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Annie Pearl Brock; brothers, Murry and Bud Gilmore; sisters, Josie Majors, Jessie Lee Richardson, Arizina Hill and Luvina Twiner. He is survived by his wife, Earline Brock Gilmore, of Amory; sons, Kenneth Gilmore and Kenny Gilmore, both of Amory; daughters, Linda Tidwell and Betty Plunkett, both of Amory; brother, Burdine Gilmore, of Zion, Ill.; sisters, Marie Burlison, of Amory, Audrey Duncan, of Zion, Ill., and Magdlene Piontkouske of Buffalo, N. Y.; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are David Burlison, Pat Gilmore, Tony Plunkett, Michael Plunkett, Greg Lindsey, and Curtis Finny.
