WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Ola Mae Smith, 72, died Nov. 2, 2012, in Winston-Salem. Private graveside services are Monday at Center Hill Baptist Church. Cremation Service, Inc. of Winston-Salem is in charge of arrangements. Ms. Smith was born and lived most her life in Hamilton. She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Whitaker; and husband, Wayne Smith. She is survived by her mother, Viola Hawkins Whitaker of Hamilton; daughters, Sherrie Mier of Winston-Salem, and Teresa Ware of Charleston, S.C.; son, Tony Hall of Aberdeen; brothers, Sonny Whitaker of Amory, and Jerry Whitaker of Hamilton; sisters, Frances Stokes of Hamilton, Shirley Whitaker of Becker, and Sarah Madison of Columbus; and four grandchildren.
