COLUMBUS – Nan Geneva Nance, 78, died Jan. 7, 2021, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Brick M.B. Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Everette Little officiating. Visitation is from 2-6 p.m. today, at Carter’s Funeral Services Chapel. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Nance was born July 24, 1942, in Aberdeen, to the late Walter Dumas Sr. and Lucille Wilson Dumas. She was formerly employed as a cook with Tenn-Tom Catfish House and was a member of Brick M.B. Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Nance; son, Willie Lee Thompson Jr.; and siblings, Walter Dumas Jr., D.L. Dumas, Curtis Dumas, Arlanda Dumas, Jimmy Lee Dumas, Bernice Rice, and Leon Dumas. She is survived by her children, Lorenza Dukes, Ronald Dukes, Denise Deloach all of Columbus, Angela Pugh of Tupelo and Bobby D. Dukes of Wylie, Texas; siblings, Lenora Johnson, Ozzie Rhone, Daisy Thomas and Booker T. Dumas all of Columbus; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
