OBITUARY

Peggy Avant

STARKVILLE —Peggy Phillips Avant, 78, died Jan. 11, 2021, at Baptist Memorial Hospital=Golden Triangle. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, at Oddfellows Cemetery, with the Rev. Mel Howton officiating. Burial will follow. Welch Funeral Home of Starkville is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Avant was born April 1, 1942, to the late Ruben Felix Phillips and Gertrude Phillips. She was formerly employed as a sales clerk for Baby Land a as a manager for Pasquales Pizza. She is survived by her sons, Tim Avant of Starkville and Clint Avant of West Point; daughters, Tina Avant of West Point and Lynn Nance of Caledonia; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
