Lester Hyver Sr.

Lester E. Hyver Sr. passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2021, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Golden Triangle, Columbus, MS. No services are planned at this time. Lowndes Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr. Hyver was born in New Orleans, LA, to the late Annette Pelke and Peter Hyver. He was a native of New Orleans and lived in Arabi for 54 years. He lived in Columbus, MS for the past 15 years. Mr. Hyver worked as an autobody repairman for many years. He was a decorated veteran of the United States Army and served during World War II, where he received a purple heart and bronze star, after being wounded in the European Theatre. Mr. Hyver was a member of DAV and VFW. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred M. Hyver; and sisters, Vera LeBlanc and Mildred Lanzl. Mr. Hyver is survived by his sons, Lester E. Hyver Jr. and his wife, Karen, Charles H. Hyver and his wife, Gail, and Roger J. Hyver; daughter, Janet H. Fuchs; 7 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
