COLUMBUS — Linda Ann Hill Grandberry “Grand-Nu” James, 73, died Nov. 19, 2020, at her residence. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, in Hopewell M.B. Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Tommy Shelton officiating. Visitation is from 2-6 p.m. today, at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. James was born May 14, 1947, in Fort Worth, Texas, to the late Henry E. Hill and Emma Mae Hill. She was formerly employed as a mail handler with the U.S. Postal Service and was a member of Greater New Canaan Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sam James; siblings, Ora Maddine Twine, Talma Sue Hill, Henry Jeff Hill and Jessie R. Hill; and one great-grandchild. She is survived by her children, William Lamar Gradberry of Florence, South Carolina, Norvell Ray Grandberry and Travette Denea Grandberry-Lewis of Columbus; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
