NOXUBEE — Charles Barber, 61, died Sept. 16, 2020, in Macon. Private family graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Mt. Olive Cemetery, with the Rev. Billy Goodwin officiating. Burial will follow. Private family visitation is from 2-6 p.m. today, at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Macon is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Barber was born Sept. 9, 1959, in Noxubee County, to the late Roy and Alee Barber. He was a member of Mt. Olive M.B. Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Chasity Barber; and sisters, Mamie Ross, Mary Barber, and Ella Mae Lewis.He is survived by his wife, Mary Bernard Barber; children, Joseph Roy Barber of Texas, Ashley Barber of Biloxi, Charles Barber Jr. of Meridian, and Amber Barber of East St. Louis, Illinois; siblings, Ella Clark of Macon, Isaac Barber of East St. Louis, Missouri, and Michael Barber of Kansas; and 10 grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Terrance Barber, Lil Michael Barber, Kendrick Mitchell, Melvin Scales, Arthur Henry, and Keith Sanders.
