STARKVILLE — Roy Fisher, 77, died Sept. 12, 2020. Family services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, at First Baptist Church Maben, with the Rev. Ben Yarber officiating. Burial will follow in Curtis Chapel Cemetery of Starkville. Welch Funeral Home of Starkville is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Fisher was born May 17, 1943, in Crockett County, Tennessee, to the late Ruth Clell Colston Fisher and Johnny Patterson Fisher. He was a veteran of the US Army and was formerly employed as a welder, a road construction foreman and a farmer. He attended First Baptist Maben Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Rex Fisher, Dan C. Fisher, James P. Fisher, Sue Massengill and Jo Ann Burks. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Jane Reece Fisher; children, Brenda Fisher Temple of Maben and Roy G. Fisher of Starkville; siblings, Doris Stutts of Humboldt, Tennessee, Bobbie Nell Stevenson, LeRoy Fisher both of Barlett, Tennessee, Cynthia Smith of Biloxi, Ava Morgan of Collierville, Tennessee, Bonnie Williams of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, Johnny Fisher of Memphis, Tennessee and Marty Fisher of Maurcy City, Tennessee; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
