AMORY — James Howell “Jim” Knight Jr. 83, died Sept. 12, 2020, at North Mississippi Medical Center-Gilmore. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home, with Stanley Blaylock and Danny Burks officiating. Burial will follow in Gilvo Cemetery near Skyline. Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home of Amory is in charge of arrangement.s Mr, Knight was born Sept. 3, 1937, in Belzoni, to the late Jimmy Howell and Thelma Maurine Bush Knight. He attended Moorehead School. He was formerly employed selling insurance, operating Jim and Jeans Drive-In, running Front Page and Barr’s Ferry and as owner and operator of Jr’s Lounge. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Knight; son Gregory Knight; siblings, Fred and Bob Knight; and one great-grandchild. He is survived by his children, Mike Knight, Jeff Knight both of Mooreville, Glenda Thompson and Donna Price both of Amory; siblings, Don Knight of Saltillo, Eugene Knight of Tupelo, Johnny “Bo” Knight and Lynda Francis both of Amory; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Pallbearers will be Jacob and Jared Knight, Dusty Thompson, Scott Bunch, Eric Price, Matthew Gazaway and Blake Goodin.
