CRAWFORD — Murry Anthony, 88, died July 28, 2020. Visitation is today from 1-4 p.m. at Lee-Sykes Funeral Home in Columbus. Mr. Anthony was born July 23, 1932, in Crawford to late Mary Jennings Anthony and Roderick Anthony Sr. He served as District 4 supervisor and was the first black supervisor for that district. Murry was a faithful member of Pleasant Ridge Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as deacon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, John, Roderick and Vera; and son, Murry Anthony Jr. He is survived by his wife, Luberta Tucker Anthony; children, Hazel Daniley, Barbara Anthony Hyman, Lamar Anthony, Bridgett Law and Lowonder Moore; five sisters, one brother, nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
