ATKINSON, N.C. ó Willie Calmes, died Feb. 5, 2020, in Wallace, North Carolina. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Pleasant Grove M.B. Church of Crawford, with Riley Forrest Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Oakland M.B. Church Cemetery. Visitation is from 12-6 p.m. today, at Carterís Funeral Services of Columbus. Carterís Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Calmes was born June, 23, 1926, in Oktibbeha County, to the late Walker Williams and Frances Calmes. He was formerly employed as an equipment repairman for the U.S. Military. He is survived by his wife, Margaree W. Calmes of Atkinson, North Carolina; children, Bryant Calmes of Mobile, Alabama, Eric A. Calmes of Crawford, Marie L. Calmes and An-Jeanette Calmes of Powder Springs, Georgia; 18 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
