STARKVILLE — William “Baby” Harris, 93, died Feb. 6, 2020, in Starkville. Services will be at noon Saturday, at First John M.B. Church of Starkville, with the Rev. Thomas Boyd Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Boyd Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:30-5:30 p.m. Friday, at Century Hariston Funeral Home of Starkville. Century hariston Funeral Home of Starkville is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Harris was born May 18, 1926, in Starkville, to the late Eliga and Annie Harris. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was formerly employed as laboratory assistant at The Boll Weevil Lab at Mississippi State, at Mississippi Funeral Service and Oktibbeha County Courthouse. He was a member of First John M.B. Church. He is survived by his wife Betty Jean Harris; children, Isaiah Harris, William Harris III, both from Flint, Illinois, Anthony Johnson of Starkville, Catherine Tate, Brenda Jackson both of Starkville, Arlean Montgomery of Flint Michigan, Lucy Gibson of Cleveland, Ohio, Beverly Bedford of Smyrna, Georgia, Terri Whitely of New Albany and Connese Frierson of Columbus; sister, Laura Wilkins of Dallas; 38 grandchildren; 72 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
