BATON ROUGE, La. — Thomas Edward “Buddy” Watson, 88, died Dec. 4, 2019, at the Crossing at Clarity Hospice in Baton Rouge. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Raleigh Richter officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Bluff Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery in Cedar Bluff. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Watson was born Aug. 29, 1931, in Cedar Bluff, to the late Oscar Lee and Evie Ophelia McDougal Watson. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the 54th Transportation Division during the Korean War. He was formerly employed with the Wholesale Specialty Company and self-employed with Buddy’s Wholesale Company. He was a member of Goodwood Boulevard Church of Christ in Baton Rouge. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Iness Weathers Watson; sisters, Helen Watson and Nell Valentine; and brothers, Charles and James Watson. He is survived by his son, Christopher Edward Watson of Baton Rouge; brother, Oliver Watson of West Point; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Christopher Watson, Kenny Ingram, Mark Randle, Gene Allen Sanders, Jason Ingram and Dustin Randle.
