WEST POINT — Mary Frances Owens Pumphrey, 93, died Sept. 9, 2019, at North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Pleasant Grove Church in Una, with the Rev. Steve Lampkin officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. today at Calvert Funeral Home and one hour prior to the services at the church. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Pumphrey was born Sept. 27, 1925, in Chickasaw County, to the late Henry Lee and Ethel O’Barr Criddle. She was formerly employed as a machine operator with Knickerbocker in West Point, a seamstress with Burris Manufacturing in Prairie, and a Pink Lady at Trace Hospital in Houston. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter E. Owens; second husband, James M. Pumphrey; daughter, Mamie Lou Huffman; son, James Lee Owens; brother, Herbert Criddle; and one grandchild. She is survived by her son, Richard Owens of Saltillo; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild. Pallbearers will be Lee Huffman, Drew White, Austin White, Chris Posey, Cayse Copeland, Austin Warren, Zach Phillips and Cody Jinkins. Memorials may be made to Palmer Home for Children, P.O.
