COLUMBUS — Minnie Phillips, 70, died Sept. 10, 2019. Services will be at noon Saturday at St. Paul Baptist Church, 1800 Short Main St., with the Rev. Armondo Adams officiating. Burial will follow at New Prospect M.B. Church Cemetery. Visitation is from 4:30-7:30 p.m. today at Benchmark Memorial Life Center. Benchmark Memorial Life Center is in charge of arrangements. Ms. Phillips was born May 27, 1949, in Artesia, to the late Matthew and Annie Mae Phillips. She attended Motley High School and was formerly employed as a production worker and in the cafeteria at the YMCA in New York, New York. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by son, Darron Phillips; and sisters, Lizzie and Annie Phillips. She is survived by her sons, Dwayne Phillips of Columbus and Justin Phillips of Magee; daughter, Simona Phillips of Columbus; brothers, George Phillips of Macon, Georgia and Henry Phillips Muskegon, Michigan.
