DECATUR, Ala. — Edith P. Lindley Snowden, 91, died Sept. 9, 2019, at her residence. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Cockrell Funeral Home, with the Rev. Sean Greer officiating. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Cockrell Funeral Home of Macon is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Snowden was born Aug. 4, 1928, in Shuqualak, to the late John R. and Velma Smith Permenter. She attended Shuqualak High School and East Mississippi Junior College and was formerly employed as Director of Medical Records with Noxubee General Hospital. She was a member of Concord Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Oscar L. Lindley; second husband, the Rev. James M. Snowden; and brother, Clyde Permenter. She is survived by her son, Oscar E. Lindley; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
