SULLIGENT, Ala. — Danny Wayne Smith, 62, died Sept. 6, 2019, at his residence. Services with Military Honors will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Otts Funeral Home Chapel, with Matthew Paul, James Godsey and Lynn Calloway officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery. Visitation will be two hours prior to the services at the funeral home. Otts Funeral Home of Sulligent is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Smith was born Feb. 7, 1957, in Guin, to the late Billy Wayne Smith and Mary Ruth Myers. He was a graduate of Bevill State Community College in Hamilton and was a veteran of the Alabama Army National Guard, serving in Iraq. He was formerly employed in the oil field and as a truck driver with Hibbetts. He was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church in Sulligent. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Danielle Smith; and sisters, Rhonda Adair and Lisa Anthony. He is survived by his wife, Linda Smith of Sulligent; daughter, Dana Stephens of Vernon; stepdaughters, Megan Frye and Stacey Glasgow, both of Vernon, Candace Morris and Emory Moore, both of Sulligent, and Charity Tate of Greenwood Springs; brother, David Smith of Sulligent; and three grandchildren; and six step-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Terry Garrison, Wayne Lockhart, Mark Collier, Barry Nash, Michael Nash and Jason Nash.
