COLUMBUS — James “Shine” Brown, 67, died July 7, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Southside M.B. Church, with the Rev. Rayfield Evins Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul M.B. Church Cemetery. Visitation is from noon-6 p.m. today at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Brown was born Sept. 12, 1951, in Columbus, to the late Joseph Brown Sr. and Earlene Brown. He was formerly employed as a truck driver with Waste Pro Industrial. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his children, Dennis Evans and Tiffany Thompson; and siblings, Josie Cunningham, Jesse Brown, Joseph Brown Jr., Willie George Brown, Rosie Brown and Louise Brown. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Crump Brown of Columbus; children, Brittany Cain Colvin, Jermarco Poindexter, Tiffany Trimuel and Eddie Cain, all of Columbus; siblings, Bobbie Hill and Jerry Brown, both of Columbus; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
