COLUMBUS ó Emma Mae Jones Hawkins, 73, died July 8, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Union Baptist Church, with the Rev. Christopher McSwain officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation is from 3-8 p.m. today at Carterís Funeral Services. Carterís Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements. Ms. Hawkins was born May 22, 1946, in Memphis, Tennessee, to the late Willie Jones and Anita Dickerson Jones. He was formerly employed with McCoy Manufacturing and as a cafeteria worker with Caledonia Elementary School. He is a member of Union Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Annie Jean Jones, Milton Jones and Flozell Jones. He is survived by his daughter, Tracy Brown of Seattle, Washington; siblings, Eddie Lee Jones of West Point, Darlene Danner and Brenda Davis, both of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Raymond Jones, Randall Jones, Marshelle Jones and Sharon Jones, all of Columbus; and one grandchild. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Henry, Gerry Henry, Melvin Shirley, Steve Shirley, Charles Henry and Curtis Peoples.
