PONTIAC, Ill. — Eva Hood, 54, died June 10, 2019, at her residence. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Otts Funeral Home Chapel, with Paul Barham officiating. Burial of cremains will follow at the Wofford Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Otts Funeral Home of Sulligent, Alabama, is in charge of arrangements. Ms. Hood was born Jan. 4, 1965, in Rock Island, Illinois, to Mattie Howard and the late Melvin Hod. She was formerly employed as a waitress with Pontiac Family Kitchen and Appletree Restaurants in Pontiac. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her sons, Derrick Stanford of Amory and Jacob Pennington of Bloomington, Illinois; stepfather, Robert Dohleman of Pontiac; brother, Stephen Hood of Pontiac; sisters, Angela Hood of Bloomington and Laura Vice of Vernon, Alabama; and one grandchild.
