NOXUBEE — Earnestine Mickens, 66, died May 6, 2019, at North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Charity Mission Full Gospel Baptist Church in Crawford, with the Rev. Lee Andrew Sanders officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant M.B. Church Cemetery in Brooksville. Visitation is from noon-6 p.m. Friday at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Macon is in charge of arrangements. Ms. Mickens was born July 11, 1952, in Noxubee County, to the late Albert Mickens and Rosa Lee Mickens. She was a 1972 graduate of Noxubee County High School and attended Mary Holmes Community College. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant M.B. Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Albert Mickens Jr., Roosevelt Mickens, Robert Mickens, O’Dell Mickens, John Mickens, Jordan Mickens and R.D. “Jim” Mickens; and sisters, Rosie B. Mickens, Alma Mickens, Annie Mickens, Jessie Will Mickens and Mary Logan. She is survived by her children, Tasha Hughes of Houston, Texas and Lashanda Mickens of Brooksville; brothers, Archie Mickens and L.B. Mickens, both of Hartford, Connecticut, Emmett Mickens of Brooksville, Phillip Mickens of Hoover, Alabama, and Joseph Mickens of Columbus; sisters, Anna Lee Logan of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Marie Cook, Martha Collins and Mary Rogers, all of Hartford, Connecticut, Peggy Jackson of Rockville, Connecticut, Delois Mickens of Starkville and Mary Hill of Columbus; and five grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Kellian Hughes, Chioke Mickens, Paras Griffin, Ryshawn Smith, Jessie Dixon and Christopher Williams.
