COLUMBUS — David Vernon Lynam, 74, died May 9, 2019, at his residence. Mr. Lynam was born May 18, 1944, in West Point, to the late Charles Lynam and Fanny Mae Osborn Blake. He was formerly employed with TXI-Cement Plant, as a security officer, as a jailor with Lowndes County and as an on-the-road truck driver. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Sissy” Lynam; daughters, Dana Vail of Columbus and Debbie Lynam of Indiana; stepsons, Charles “Chuck” Banks of Iuka and Robert “Bobby” Banks of Columbus; brothers, Kenny Lynam and Danny Osburn, both of Kentucky; sisters, Becky Hennessy of Kentucky, Mary Southgate of Tennessee and Johnnie Dean of Missouri; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Lowndes Funeral Home, 1131 N. Lehmberg Road, Columbus, MS 39702.
