JACKSON – Rebecca Anne Perkins “Becky” died March 10, 2019, at Dominic’s Hospital. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Salem Cemetery near Macon. A celebration of life service will be held at First Baptist Jackson at a later date. Cockrell Funeral Home in Macon is entrusted with arrangements. Ms. Perkins was born May 5, 1936, in Marianna, Arkansas, to Oscar Leon and Fannye Harding Perkins. She was a 1958 graduate of MUW. She was formerly employed as executive assistant to the local office manager of IBM, a substitute teacher at Jackson Academy and a teacher of Murphy High School in Mobile, Alabama. She was a member in the local chapter of Executive Women International (EWI), which she served tirelessly in multi positions including president; and volunteered for Mustard Seed daily outreached, homes and ceramic art studio. Becky was a member of First Baptist Jackson. She is survived by her sister, Frances Perkins Dempsey of Berkeley Springs, West Virginia. Memorials, in Becky’s name, may be made to Mustard Seed, 1085 Luckney Road, Brandon, MS. 39047; and to Special Ministries of First Baptist Church, 431 North State Street, Jackson, MS 39201.
