WEST POINT ó Clyde E. Hopkins, 55, died Jan. 1, 2019. Services are 11 a.m. today at U.F.C.W. Local #1529 Union Hall in West Point with the Rev. Calvin Chandler officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Church Cemetery in Pheba. Visitation is today from 2-6 p.m. at Carterís Mortuary Service Chapel in West Point. Mr. Hopkins was born Oct. 6, 1963, in West Point to Walter Hopkins Jr. and Fannie M. Hopkins. Clyde was employed in the public works department for the City of West Point. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his son, LaShaun Hopkins; daughters, Solondra Avant and LaShari Hopkins; sisters, Renett Duck and Elsie Hopkins Beard; and seven grandchildren.
