Robert Alpe

STARKVILLE — Robert James “Butch” Alpe, 76, died Dec. 20, 2018, at Oktibbeha County Hospital. A memorial service was Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Visitation was two hours prior to services at the church. Welch Funeral Home in Starkville was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Alpe was born June 2, 1942, in Winnsboro, Louisiana, to the late Joseph Bernard and Camille Forte Alpe. He was a 1960 graduate of Winnsboro High School and a 1966 graduate of Louisiana State University. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was formerly employed as the director of the Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce Plant Industry. He was also the secretary and treasurer for the Mississippi Agriculture Industry Council. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Alpe. He is survived by his wife, Twila Little Alpe; children, Mike and Mitzi Alpe, both of Starkville, Shane and Kristy Alpe, both of West Point and Kalicia and Lee Henderson, both of Tupelo; brother, Joe Frank Alpe of Little Rock, Arkansas; sister, Cheryl Reeves of Winnsboro, Louisiana and seven grandchildren.
