Albert Lee Coleman, 83, of Jackson, MS passed away Friday, January 13, 2017, at the VA Nursing Home, Jackson, MS. Visitation was Sunday, January 15, 2017, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A Funeral Service was Monday, January 16, 2017 at 11:00 AM in Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Al Hamm officiating. Interment was in Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Columbus, MS with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mr. Coleman was born October 25, 1933, to the late Marler and Vernie Lee Clemmons Coleman in Pickens County, AL. He served in United States Army and the United States Army Reserve. Mr. Coleman was formerly employed in maintenance at Omnova Solutions, Columbus, MS and was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, Columbus, MS. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife-Betty Jean Hanson Coleman and brother-Millard Coleman. Mr. Coleman is survived by his sons-Andrew Coleman, Jackson, MS; Doug (Becky) Coleman, Columbus, MS; Larry Coleman; grandchildren-Madalyn Coleman, Ryan Kyle Coleman, and Cody Coleman; sister-Elizabeth Spencer; brother-Carl Coleman and Larry Coleman; sisters-in-law-Barbara Coleman and Kathy Hanson; brothers –in-law-Milton Hanson, Carl (Wilda) Hanson, Billy (Ginger) Hanson; aunt-Mary Clemmons; nieces-Pat Harris, Diane Moore, Melissa Howard, Jill Wigfield, Hollie Hanson, Crystal Hanson, Karla Harwood, Leslie Hanson, Pat McCluney, and Brenda Irvin. Pallbearers were nephews, Joey Hanson, Jason Hanson, Clint Hanson, Stanley Hanson, Terry Spencer, Michael Coleman, Jim Coleman, and Donald Coleman. Honorary Pallbearers will be John and Jeanie Buckley, Donald and Martha Ward, Dwayne and Marsha Burns, Gordy and Wynell Koenigsberger, Jean Duckett, and the Staff of Arrington.
