Jimmie Dean McGuff,Jr., 48 of Ackerman, MS passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at Sanctuary Hospice House, Tupelo, MS. Visitation will be Saturday, April 9, 2016, from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A Funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the Lowndes Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Grant Mitchell officiating. Interment will be in Marvin Cemetery, Pickens County, AL with Lowndes Funeral Home directing. Mr. McGuff was born July 17, 1967, in Columbus, MS to Mr. Jimmie Dean & Cherie Hunter McGuff, Sr. He was a 1985 graduate of Caledonia High School. Mr. McGuff was a veteran of the United States Army and employed as a rigger with Burkhalter Rigging for 9 years. He was a member of Caledonia United Pentecostal Church, Caledonia, MS and was really involved in church. Mr. McGuff always put the Lord first and studied the scripture daily. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, playing computer games and was an avid Alabama football fan. Mr. McGuff is survived by his wife – Merry Beth Evans McGuff, Ackerman, MS; daughter – Chelsea McGuff, Columbus, MS; parents – Jimmie Dean and Cherie Hunter McGuff, Sr., Daphne, AL; brothers – Jeff (Gwain) McGuff, Charlotte, NC and Jody McGuff, Foley, AL; grandmother – Molly McGuff, aunt – Mildred Walden; cousins – Danyale Walden, Katherine Walden and Scott Gibson and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Alexander, Corey Miller, Jeremy Wills and Jacob McGuff. Honorary pallbearers will be John White and the employees of Burkhalter Rigging.
