SULLIGENT, ALABAMA —Fred Thompson, 69, died Nov. 28, 2015, at the Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham. Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church with Glenn Boman, Jimmy May and Blake Thompson officiating. Mr. Thompson was born to the late James Lester and August Vaughn Thompson in Fayette County. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. He attended Samford University, receiving a BS degree in Biology, University of Alabama, receiving his teaching certification and Livingston University, earning his Master’s Degree in Supervision and Administration. He was previously employed as a teacher at Kennedy and South Lamar schools. He is survived by his wife, Blanche Stabler Thompson of Sulligent; daughters, Ginny Thompson Northam of Ashville and Mandy Thompson of Sebastopol; brother, Paul Thompson of Fayette; and four grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Shiloh Baptist Church at 434 Shiloh Road, Sulligent, AL 35563.
