VERNON, Ala. Norman Odelle “Toby” McCurdy, 67, died Dec. 11, 2020, at Magnolia Regional Health Center of Corinth. A private family funeral service is at 2 p.m. today, at Otts Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Kingsville Cemetery. Otts Funeral Home of Sulligent, Alabama is in charge of arrangements. Mr. McCurdy was born Aug. 23, 1953, in Uniontown, Alabama, to the late Ellis Norman McCurdy and Katherine Delilah Willis. He was a graduate of Dallas County High School and George C. Wallace Community College. He was formerly employed with Tronox and as a pastor at Cody Church of God. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Chester D. Chappelle; and siblings, Linda Carter and Vesta “Becky” Chappelle. He is survived by his wife, Barbara McCurdy; children, Heath McCurdy and Sandra Hauser; siblings, David Chappelle, William McCurdy, Teresa Riddle and Jackie Mims; and one grandchild. Pallbearers will be Joe Benton, Tinto Stephens, Derris Newman and Ken Pendley.
