WEST POINT — Murray “Buddy” Noblin Jr., 79, died May 6, 2019, at his residence. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Raleigh Richter and Kenneth Byrd officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Garden Cemetery in West Point. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Calvert Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Noblin was born Sept. 13, 1939, in Clay County, to the late Murray Sr. and Ela Williams Shurden Noblin. He was a U.S. Marine Corp. veteran and was formerly employed as a machinist with Babcock and Wilcox. He was a member of Cedar Bluff U.M. Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Katherine LeNoir Noblin; sister, Betty Shipman; and brother, Donnie Watson. He is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Schultz of Center Point, Louisiana and Anita Taylor of Petal; sons, Murray Noblin III of Hattiesburg and Bo McKee of Mathiston; sisters, Martha White of Cedar Bluff and Mary Judice of New Iberia, Louisiana; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Marion Johnson, Keath Pearson, Heath Pearson, John Jackson, Ray White, Rodney White, Robbie White, Drew Nichols and Billy Bennett.
