Molly Coleman

On March 9, 2022, Molly Malone Herring Coleman passed away in Columbus, MS, at her home. She was born on December 12, 1959, in Pace, MS, to Robert and Elizabeth Malone and grew up attended Bayou Academy where she made many lifelong friends. She graduated from Delta State University and settled in Starkville soon thereafter with her family. Molly was a loving wife, mother, and member of her community. She attended First United Methodist Church in Starkville and worked for Mississippi State University and the Mississippi University for Women until her retirement in 2018. Molly was a forceful presence in the world, and she will be missed dearly by her friends and family.
She is survived by her husband, Johnny Coleman; her children, Katye Herring and Clay Herring; her step-children, Sara Coleman, Allicyn Hewett, John Coleman; her step- granddaughter, Kalin Hewett; her sister, Kelly Fallen and brother-in-law (Louis); and her brother, Rob; along with nieces, Bailey and Jessi; and nephew Riley.
She is proceeded in death by both her parents; brothers, Pat Malone and Mike Malone (Kathleen); and sister, Lilly Malone Hunt.
While Molly’s family grieves her loss, they find comfort that she has now found peace with the Lord.
A Memorial Service was held at 2 PM on Monday, March 14, 2022, at Tisdale Lann Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Criddle officiating. Inurnment will follow in Oddfellows Rest Cemetery. Visitation was prior to the service from noon until 1:45 PM at the funeral home on Monday.
