AMORY — Mildred Reed Carter Egger, 94, died April 24, 2009, at her residence. Services were today at 10 a.m. at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Bro. Tim Cunningham officiating. Burial followed at Masonic Cemetery. Mrs. Egger was born Nov. 13, 1914, in Monroe County to the late Lucas J. and Zula Tubb Carter. She was a lifelong resident of Monroe County and a graduate of Hatley High School. She was a homemaker and had worked for Amory Garment Co., Wilson’s Manufacturing and Glenn Manufacturing. She was a member of the New Hope Primitive Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Clinton Egger; and brothers, Troy, Delray, Trenton and Willard Carter. She is survived by her daughters, Betty Bourland of Aberdeen and Peggy Bethany of Amory; brother, O.G. Carter of Amory; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Terry, Scottie, Jerry, Leon and Shelby Carter, Junior Pickle and Mike Riley.
