COLUMBUS — Mike Sturdivant Webber Jr., 78, died Aug. 29, 2022, at North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at St. John M.B. Church, with John Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation is from 2-6 p.m. today, at Carter’s Funeral Services. Carter’s Funeral Services of Columbus is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Webber was born Sept. 1, 1943, in Columbus, to the late Sturdivant Webber Sr. and Estella Oneal Webber. He was formerly employed as a carpenter and was a member of St. John M.B. Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Adolph Webber and John L. Harris; and sister, Lula Mae Jones.
He is survived by his children, Teresa Carr of Columbus, Beverly Carr of Nashville, Tennessee, Arenta Denise Washington of West Point, Mike Washington of Pearl, Marzette C. Lowe, K. James Washington, both of Columbus; 10 step-children; siblings, Annie B. Fenton of Fairview Heights, Illinois, Oaker Ree Webber, Margie Ree McNeil, both of St. Louis, Missouri, Dorthy Jean Jones of Los Angeles, California, Georgia Mae Fair of San Bernardino, California, James Earl Webber of Matteson, Illinois, LaRoy Webber of Harrisbur, Pennsylvania, and Larry Joel Webber of Grand Rapids, Michigan; 20 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Larry Joel Webber, Tony Webber, Rob Townsend, Elbert Gunter, Larry Hughes, Marcus Doss and Rodney Perry.
