AMORY – Dr. Melvin Richard “Dick” Holman, 84, died April 4, 2021, at North Mississippi Medical Center-Gilmore Memorial in Amory.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, at Haughton Memorial Park, with Len Pinkley officiating. Visitation will be from 1-1:45 p.m. Friday, at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home. Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home of Amory is in charge of arrangements.
Dr. Holman was born Oct. 12, 1936, in Warren County, to the late James Melvin and Musa Leona Curren Holman. He was a graduate of Carr Central High School, Mississippi College and Baylor University Medical School. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was formerly employed as an Ob/Gyn. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his children, Julie Berry and Karen Pope; siblings, Iris Allison and Winston Holman; and one great-grandchild.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Hood Holman; children, Susan Prochazka of Houston, Texas, Mary Katherine Mastrangelo of Bend, Oregon, Jay Holman of Amory and Chris Francis of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
