Mavis Eaves Sennett, 87, of Columbus, died Saturday, July 4, 2009, at her daughter’s residence in Columbus, Mississippi. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation was held Monday evening, July 6, 2009 at Memorial. The funeral service will be Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at 2:00PM at Memorial Funeral Home with Rev Ron McDougald and Rev. Billly Little officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Born Sunday, November 20, 1921 in Winston County, MS, she was the daughter of the late Joel Elisha and Minnie Carr Eaves. She had been a resident of Columbus for 57 years. A long-time member of Calvary Baptist Church, she was retired from Kmart. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Vallie D. Sennett, her twin brother Davis and other brothers Roscer, Gilbert, Artis and Gilbert Eaves. She was also predeceased by her sisters Lucy Finkley, Carlene Fulcher, Agnes Wells Carter and Avis Hurt Etheridge. She is survived by her son, Vallie Davis Sennett (Rita) of Fultondale, AL, daughters, Shirley Frances Hughes (Tommy) of Columbus, MS and Emily Dell Bollinger (Tom) of Bruce, MS., grandchildren Terrie Ann Creecy (James) Kenneth L. Phelps, and Angela M. Lutton (Brian), all of Columbus; Keith S. Bollinger, Karl S. Bollinger (Kitty) and Kimberly S. Bollinger , all of Bruce, MS; Jason D. Sennett, Cartersville, GA , Jerry W. Hughes, Mobile, AL and ten great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons Keith and Karl Bollinger, Kenneth Phelps, Brain Lutton and Jesse and Frank Creecy. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Frank Daily and staff, Dr. Min Kim, Nurse Diana Triplett and Aid Polly Billups of Heart-to-Heart Hospice and the other staff members of Heartto- Heart.
