COLUMBUS — Maurice William Harris, 64, died Feb. 6, 2019, in Columbus. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Missionary Union Baptist Church with the Rev. Tony A. Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery. Visitation is from noon-5:30 p.m. Friday at Century Hairston Funeral Home. Century Hairston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Harris was born Jan. 7, 1955, in Columbus, to Mary Harris. He was formerly employed as a factory worker with United Technology and B.F. Goodrich in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his sister, Brenda Harris Robinson. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Rita Faye Harris; daughter, Princess Harris of Columbus; son, Maurice Bernard Harris of Tupelo and Terrill Harris of Columbus; sisters, Beulah Tinsley and Lyndia Prowell; and four grandchildren.
