WEST POINT – Mattie Skipper Brown, 67, died Jan. 25, 2021, at North Mississippi Medical Center of Tupelo. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, at Pool’s Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. James Alvin Richardson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the cemetery. Carter’s Mortuary Services of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Brown was born Jan. 15, 1954, in Lowndes County, to the late Eddie Skipper and Clara Skipper. She was formerly employed as a school teacher. She is survived by her children, Courtney Brown of Atlanta, Georgia, Reginald Brown of St. Louis, Missouri and Jamel Brown of West Point; siblings, Annie Lewis of Birmingham, Alabama, Gracie Skipper of Columbus, Eddie Skipper of Akro, Ohio, William Skipper, Charlie Skipper and Alvin Skipper all of Columbus; and two grandchildren.
