REFORM, Ala. — Mary Frances Smith, 76, died Jan. 31, 2010, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services are Friday at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kevin Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Union Hill Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. Skelton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Smith was born July 31, 1933, in Toms River, N.J., to the late Howard France Cornell and Hazel Mary Smith. She was a Methodist and a retired self-employed florist. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Troy Cecil Smith Jr., and brother, Howard Cornell. She is survived by her husband, Troy Cecil Smith Sr., of Reform; daughters, Mary Gulsby, of Cottondale, Ala., Donna Schaffer, of Calhoun, Ga., and Teresa Nugent, of Reform; sons, Gary Smith, of Reform, Timothy Smith, of Warner Robbins, Ga., and Gregory Smith, of Bayville, N.J.; two sisters and one brother; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are Gary M. Smith, Gregory H. Smith, Timothy A. Smith, Donald P. Strickland, Richard F. Strickland and Cecil R. Gulsby.
